Debra Wimpy is the Director of the Dawson County Communications Division. She began her career in 1988 with Dawson County, where she served as a communication officer and a detention officer. In 1993, she transferred to Lumpkin County Communications. In 1996, she became the Director of Lumpkin County Communications. In January 1999, Wimpy accepted a position with Dawson County as the Communications Director. She was the Vice-President Northwest for the 911 Director's Association from 2009 to 2011, Vice President North from 1998 to 1999, President-Elect 2000, served as President in 2001, and is the past President of the Georgia Terminal Agency Coordinators Association. Director Wimpy was the Secretary for the Dawson County Kiwanis Club from 2000 to 2002. She is currently serving as the Treasurer for the 911 Director's Association and Treasurer for the Georgia Emergency Communications Conference Committee (G.E.C.C.).
