Kathleen began working at the Dawson County Sheriff's
Office on January 2, 1989. She was hired as a secretary by former Sheriff
Chester, but due to there being approximately 12 employees, everyone wore
more than one hat. She assisted with dispatch (only one dispatcher) and
the jail (no jailers). She did the paperwork for Superior, Juvenile and
Probate courts, GCIC monthly reports, newspaper reports, uniforms,
warrants, civil papers, subpoenas, personnel files, department of
corrections sentence sheets, purchase orders, peace officer
certifications, plus many others. Kathleen's duties have changed through
the years due to a huge increase in department size (70 employees) and
workload. Kathleen has been with the department continuously, longer than
any other employee at the Dawson County Sheriff's Office. She also worked
with Billy Carlisle before he was elected sheriff, when he worked for
Dawson County as "Deputy Billy Carlisle".
