The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office must submit each year a proposed budget to the Dawson County Board of Commissioners. The Sheriff and members of his staff must then attend budget meetings with the County Manager and the Commissioners to justify and discuss the budget. Sometime in November of each year the budget is approved and returned to the Sheriff. This becomes the basis for our operations the next year.

The Sheriff and his department, feel as public servants, it is important that our citizens be allowed to review the proposed budget. For this reason we have included it on this site for you to download and review. This is only the proposed budget and has not been approved by the Commissioners. Additional information was also submitted with the budget to the Commissioners that was unavailable for this site. You may at anytime contact the Sheriff’s Office to review the complete budget proposal.
