Welcome to the Dawson County Sheriff's Office home page. We are excited to offer this service to our community and others who are interested in our department. We are a full service law enforcement agency that serves a community of approximately 20,000 full time residents and a much larger daytime population. We operate through four main divisions - patrol, criminal investigations, detention/warrants, and the 911-communications center.

The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is comprised of one hundred and two employees. Every employee is dedicated to service to each of our citizens and visitors. Currently our department is working toward National Accreditation and State Certification. Our department has worked diligently to offer a wide array of community based programs. These include the Junior Law Enforcement Academy, the Citizens Police Academy, and the Explorer Program to name a few. Through these efforts and others we will continue to strive to improve our professionalism and quality of service.
