2018 First Annual Sheriff’s Ride to benefit Relay for Life

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office held its first annual motorcycle Ride for Relay on Saturday April 14, 2018. All proceeds benefited the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Campaign.  Over $1,500 was raised during this event.

We are thankful to our sponsors (All Cycle, Appalachian Biker Gear, Dawsonville Gun and Pawn, and Appalachian Armory) for their generosity and help in making this a successful event.

Various motorcycle clubs represented included the Blue Knights of Ga., the Punishers Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Heaven’s Saints Motorcycle Ministry and the Wingmen Motorcycle Club of Dawson County.

The ride encompassed approximately 52 miles with the route winding primarily through Dawson County with brief passages in Lumpkin and Pickens Counties.

“We are very thankful for everyone who came out to support this effort. It was enjoyable witnessing the camaraderie of the various motorcycle clubs and individuals, as they assembled for such a worthy cause. Cancer is a disease that affects everyone is some way, shape and fashion; whether it’s through personal affliction or close family and friends. This makes it so much more important for all of us to get involved.”

“We are already looking forward and planning for an even more successful event in 2019”

Sheriff Jeff Johnson
