The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office continually searches for highly qualified, experienced law enforcement officers for our Sheriff’s Services Component. To be considered for employment, applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have no serious criminal record or background, possess certification as a police officer, experience as a patrol officer, and a desire to work in a community-oriented environment. All applicants are subject to a thorough background check, pre-employment drug screen, voice stress analysis, an interview process, and other pre-employment screening techniques utilized by the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.
Responsibilities of a deputy assigned to this component may include, but are not limited to; those duties assigned to a patrol officer, serving criminal warrants, serving civil process, inmate transports, providing courtroom security, providing Government Center security, etc.
